About Dr. Wong

Dr. Wong received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington with a specialty in Child Clinical Psychology. The Child Clinical Psychology Program provides additional training in child and adolescent development and evidence-based assessment and treatment. During her doctoral training, Dr. Wong taught undergraduate classes, conducted psychological evaluations, provided individual therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults, and conducted a variety of therapy groups. She completed her predoctoral internship at Stanford University Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Children's Health Council in 2006. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Children's Health Council in 2007, in which she received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of young children under the age of 6 and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Following her fellowship at Children's Health Council, she joined their staff as a psychologist, providing diagnostic evaluations, social skills groups, and therapy to children and adolescents, as well as serving as a supervisor to pre- and postdoctoral trainees in group therapy.

In 2010, Dr. Wong opened a private practice in San Mateo in which she specializes in the treatment of preschool-age children, school-age children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing Anxiety Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, cultural and identity development issues, and behavior problems. She also specializes in providing social skills groups and parent support, particularly conducting group therapy for children and teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Social Anxiety. She utilizes a strength-based, integrative, and developmental approach in treatment, based upon Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and tailored to the specific needs of the client. Dr. Wong is bilingual and can speak Cantonese fluently, as well as understand basic conversational Mandarin. As a child clinical psychologist, she enjoys her roles as a consultant, therapist, and social skills group leader. She also serves as a supplemental practicum supervisor for predoctoral graduate students in the clinical psychology program at Palo Alto University.
